Experience the charms of Creation through vineyard safaris

Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge producers Creation Wines have devised a 60 to 120-minute safari for visitors to experience the many charms of their farm near Hermanus.

Central to the safari are the vineyards on the picturesque property, and guests are treated to in-depth descriptions of each of the varieties grown there, plus the opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine among the vines.

Creation’s membership of the Biodiversity & Wine Initiative (BWI), and their undertaking to preserve the fynbos-rich natural environment through biodiversity and sustainability programmes, are also highlighted during the tour.

Bird watchers will have a field day spotting endemic species such as the African Crowned Eagle and Orange Breasted Sunbird.

Other safari highlights include a stroll through the olive grove (for those who are fit), a meander along the lake, a bird’s-eye view over the farm from the hill above the lake, and the chance to view the rock formations of Babylons Toren Mountain rising up in the background.

The ramble culminates in a delicious lunch cum wine-and-food pairing under The Big Tree among the vineyards.
