Gorgeous by Graham Beck, the first brand-exclusive bubbly bar in South Africa, has opened at Steenberg estate in Constantia.

Named after the favoured term of endearment of the late Graham Beck, previously owner of both Graham Beck Wines (GBW) and Steenberg, Gorgeous is described as "a statement in indulgent elegance", with elements by British style icons Vivienne Westwood and Tom Dixon, and luxury materials such as Carrara marble distinguishing the design.

Guests lingering in the lounge area or at the bar can order from the full selection of top-rated Graham Beck méthode cap classique sparklings, optionally served with canapés specially created and prepared by executive chef Garth Almazan of Catharina’s restaurant, located in the same historic building.

These wines are the exclusive beverage offering at the bar, either by the bottle or glass. Prices start at ZAR40 per flute and ZAR200 per bottle. Guests may also opt to try the trio of non-vintage Graham Beck sparkling wines, the three vintage cuvées or the cap classique flagship, Cuvée Clive.

Opening hours are from 11am to 10pm seven days a week. Seating is limited and no reservations are taken.

Gorgeous is the latest addition to the upmarket Steenberg estate, recently voted among the Top 100 Experiences in the World by readers of Condé Nast Traveler in the US. Steenberg’s features include the award-winning Steenberg Hotel, a wellness spa and 18-hole championship golf course, the Steenberg cellardoor and Bistro Sixteen82, and Catharina’s fine dining restaurant.
