The wineries of the Breedekloof area give visitors a rare and exciting sneak peek into their 2012-harvest tanks on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 April 2012 during the 2nd annual Cloudy Nouveau festival.

As its name suggests, the event affords the opportunity to taste unfiltered new 2012 white and rosé wines direct from the vat at participating wineries like Badsberg, Bergsig, Botha, Du Toitskloof, Goudini, Slanghoek and Opstal.

The latter estate will be giving visitors a preview of its 2012 Blush, a delicate pink wine made by fermenting (black) shiraz/syrah grapes and (white) viognier grapes together. Watch the video below to see how cellarmaster Attie Louw and his team create this unusual and delicious wine.

Beside tastings of the young wines, other activities and amenities include cellar tours, restaurants, delis, sushi bars and coffee shops, 4x4 trips, massages, and plenty of shopping opportunities courtesy of vendors selling apparel and a variety of fresh produce including olives, honey, homemade jams and more.

For further details visit the festival website or call +27 (0)23 349-1791.
