Encouraged to follow his father into accounting, Gregory instead found himself on a journey into wine and food, first as a winemaking assistant at Mukuyu, one of the handful of wineries in his home country, Zimbabwe, and later as a Cape Wine Academy student in Gauteng.

Currently he is the sommelier at Cape Town’s 12 Apostles Hotel & Spa, overseeing an award-winning winelist.

Gregory has judged for the South African Airways, Nederburg Auction and Best Value Wine selections, and twice been a finalist in the Bollinger Exceptional Wine Service Awards.

He is enrolled in the Cape Wine Master and University of South Africa B. Comm. programmes, his aim being to become a wine economist.
